I have a room that I can basically make all the changes to rule out the built in wardrobe change – which are white. What is so fundamental to a color of the floor that works well with the cabinets white and the rest of the room. Also if possible I would suggest a base color that works with the color you suggested:) All other general ideas and tips are also useful. I prefer a modern look of the study. But something good plants for me. Color choices: http://tinyurl.com/ypeoua pics of the hall: http://iconmash.com/room Thanks so much!

You really have a blank slate. Anything goes. That may be the problem. Since you like a modern studio look, I would choose a darker floor, maybe the Parisienne black (think that’s the name), you can do a white bed or lighter colored wood, and your linens can be anything from deep hues to lighter tints. Staying with neutrals, yes black floor and white wardrobes are neutral, you bring your style in with accessories and linens. Bed linens are the largest item to your eye, so that’s where to make the biggest decision. I would say a dupioni silk or a funky chenille spread/comforter would work.
